The first thing you'll want to do is find out about the Dallas area to see exactly where you'll want to live. This is no easy task because your options are so vast. North Dallas Homes encompasses several suburbs. Will you live in the city, the suburbs, north, south, east or west? Will it be a townhome, condo, highrise, single family home or luxurious estate? DFW has al this to offer and more close to shopping, schools and fast moving highways (or tollways). It all depends on your lifestyle and your commuting tolerence.

North Dallas Homes can be found in the following areas or DFW Neighborhoods:

North Dallas

North Dallas is north of 635 or outside of the loop. North Dallas borders Richardson, Plano, Carrollton and Addison and is a generic term for all the northern Dallas suburbs.

North Dallas homes range from older 1960s bungalows of Richardson to the upscale "McMansions" of Plano, Frisco and McKinney some with zero lot lines and architectural charm. You will find numerous neo-traditional homes built by homebuilders such as David Weekley, Lennar, Drees and KB Homes in a variety of priceranges, in addition to custom homebuilders in the high priced DFW Luxury Neighborhoods by the names of Willow Bend, Glen Abby or Bent Tree.

Addison Texas

Addison Texas is a small pocket of fun-filled city offering North Dallas with the very best in entertainment, restaurants and culture. Addison has more restaurants per capita than many other Texas cities, so you're sure to have food close by. There are a few homes located near the Tollway and Beltline, Frankford and Keller Springs. Addison Circle is a neat place offering nighlife, apartments, lofts, condos and highrises and townhomes. Very single oriented. Very happening.

Carrollton Texas

Carrollton and Farmers Branch TX stretch from Midway and 635 all the way to the new 190 George w. Bush Freeway. This area is super-convenient to North Dallas companies and features homes in a wide range of prices from affordable to luxurious. This city offers it all, location, location, location.

Richardson, Texas

Located in the telecom corridor between North Dallas and Plano, Richardson TX has a bustling business sector. There are many older homes in the more-established Richardson in a very affordable price range with mature trees and bigger yards.

Plano Texas

Plano is an entity unto itself with a wide gammut of home styles and economic options. Many companies are headquartered in Plano which stretches from Legacy and the tollway to Highway -75 and 190. Homes can be bought in Plano from $150,000 to $10 Million in Willow Bend. Plano is convenient to major shopping at the Galleria Mall and the Shops at Willow Bend.

North Dallas Homes

Frisco, McKinney, Allen, The Colony and cities farther North are very popular among DFW suburbanites. With a strong home market, even in trying times. McKinney is the new "it" spot for new homebuilders while Frisco winds down it's 5-10 year building spree with a new tollway expansion. Allen sits at the far north end of Plano and McKinney enohoys a position between Allen, Plano and Frisco.

Central Dallas

Central Dallas is a large expanse of the city "inside the loop" and can refer to a number of different neighborhoods from the upscale to the lower-income areas.

Uptown - Dallas, Texas - lofts, condos and highrises

Oaklawn - Dallas, Texas - Predominently alternative lifestyle

Oakcliff - Dallas, Texas - Mostly lower-income, though many are buying homes in the area to be close to downtown.

Swiss Avenue - Dallas, Texas - Old street of historical mansions in a very scary part of town near Gaston Avenue.

Kessler Park - Dallas, Texas - Old historical mansion area located behind Memorial Hospital filled with doctors and upper-crust of Dallas.

Highland Park - Dallas, Texas - luxurious mansions priced in the Millions.

University Park, Park Cities, Preston Hollow - Dallas, Texas - Luxurious homes with well manicured lawns demanding very high price per square foot.

Turtle Creek - Dallas, Texas - Located near Oak Lawn, Highland Park and Downtown Dallas. Think rich retirees and highrise condos.

South Dallas Area

There are some great areas to the south of Dallas, places that aren't too crowded and offer convenient commute to Dallas proper. Cities in the southern parts of Dallas include Duncanville, DeSoto, Lancaster and Grand Prairie. You can find nice lakeside homes on Joe Pool Lake, or venture as far west as South Arlington--going towards Fort Worth.
