Addison Logo  Addison is a bustling town alive with entrepreneurial spirit where small start-ups to major corporations are headquartered including Mary Kay and Palm Harbor Homes. Within a compact urban center, Addison has a unique combination of towering office buildings, upscale shopping, beautifully landscaped residential communities, award-winning parks, 22 hotels and over 170 restaurants, all within a 5 minute drive from anywhere in town. Addison is located 13 miles north of downtown Dallas, 16 miles northeast of DFW airport, 11 miles north of Love Field airport and about a mile from The Dallas Galleria. The Addison Airport is a convenient way to arrive for charter and private planes. World-class shopping, excellent restaurants, friendly people and beautiful spaces make Addison a fun place to live, work, play and visit.

  According to the 2000 census, Addison had a population of 14,166 and 7,621 households.  The projected growth for 2011 is a population of 16,351 and 8,630 households.  The per capita income for Addison was $37,188 in 2000 and is projected to grow to $49,394.

Schools

There are not any schools within the borders of Addison, but the city is served by both Dallas ISD and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD depending on location.  Two private schools operate inside Addison city limits.  Greenhill School is a private co-educational, non-denominational pre-kindergarten through grade 12 school.  Trinity Christian Academy is a kindergarten through grade 12 multi-denominational Christian school.

Attractions & Events

Cavanaugh Flight Museum – The Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to promoting aviation studies and to perpetuating America’s aviation heritage; the museum fulfills its mission by restoring, operating, maintaining and displaying historically-significant, vintage aircraft, and by collecting materials related to the history of aviation.

Galleria Dallas – A world class shopping destination with more than 200 shops and restaurants. Be sure to check out the ice skating rink in the center of the mall, visible from every level.

Improv Comedy Club – This comedy club and restaurant showcases many top comedic acts in the Southwest United States.

Mary Kay Museum – The Mary Kay Museum is part history lesson, part tribute and part recognition hall devoted to the life of one of America’s most famous businesswomen, Mary Kay Ash.

WaterTower Theater – Award winning flexible theater space that plays an important role in Dallas community productions.

Addison Circle ParkTaste of Addison – End of May, Addison Circle Park – tasty weekend of food, music and family fun, this three-day festival features more than 50 Addison restaurants serving generous samplings of their food at reduced prices. Festivities include musical entertainment, celebrity chef demonstrations, carnival rides, midway games, arts and crafts, wine tastings and seminars, children’s entertainment and more.

Kaboom Town – Fourth of July Weekend, Addison Circle Park – Addison’s most explosive party of the year, Kaboom Town!®, features dazzling fireworks choreographed to music, plus food, live music, spectacular Cavanaugh Flight Museum’s historic warbird flyovers and more. Rated one of the top 10 fireworks shows in the country by USA Today, Kaboom Town!® promises spectacular views from just about anywhere in Addison.

Addison Oktoberfest - September, Addison Circle Park – An authentic re-creation of the Munich Oktoberfest, featuring German food, entertainment, traditional folk dances, children’s entertainment and more.
